  1. I'm sure you mean investing, not investigating.  The best way to "earn" money is to work for money and online work isn't any easier or different that offline work.

If it seems to good to be true, it often is.  Don't fall for scams, don't think for a minute it wont involve a large investment either.

Online work doesn't often need huge piles of cash but you have to invest your heart, your time and your passion into it.

As for making money online - do what you do best!  If you can develop a website about topics you know and can dedicate time to doing that then you can make money through "Adsense" or sponsored listings. (http://www.google.com/adsense)

You can also signup for affiliate sites such as cj.com to place products and links on your site that are on the topics you are knowledgeable on and writing about.

If your not into web development or publishing you can do freelance work on areas that you are comfortable with.  You can find freelance gigs on sites such as guru.com, freelance.com, and elance.com among others.  These allow you to market to people seeking out services in exchange for a small comission for finding you work.

If your into selling things, many people have great success on Ebay and selling through sites like craigslist and other large community trading & selling sites.

I wouldn't fall for the scams of send emails and get paid, read ads and get paid, click on links to get paid or especially submit surveys and get paid.  Your time is worth much more than the $2 to $3 dollars a day you would earn in these scams that often don't pay out.

Remember though that working online is no different than offline and often times there is more work to do in that you have to file your 1099 forms, do you taxes and be highly self motivated as everything is entirely up to you as to your earning potential.
