start on a weekly local paper and work your way up to a national paper! Good luck!

I'd suggest getting in touch with your local paper and asking them if there are any small stories (that their journo's can't be bothered to cover!) that they'd be willing to send you out on.

Failing that, is there something in your area or a topic that you feel passionately about?  If yes, write an article about it and submit it to your local paper and a few of the other papers.  Sometimes you can have a lucky break this way.

There are also review sites on the Internet, if you are good at writing a review about a tin of beans then the world could be your oyster!
