  1. First this is not a question at all, but that's okay, also i would advise you to just start stretching everyday maybe take yoga or beginners gymnastics.

  2. Stretch everyday... that's really the only thing. If you get someone else to help or one of those stretching thingies it might help you to push yourself and hold for like 10 seconds more. Plus most people have a "stretchability limit", no matter how you try you will not be able to break a certain limit. Plus age and gender also factors in. Give yourself milestones, like in 4 weeks you can so side splits and in 2 months you can do straight splits. Good luck!

  3. I assume the question is how do I become more flexible in order to do the splits ...

First you want to get your body warmed up - to heat up your muscles and make your normally viscous blood thinner.  I suggest you walk/run for 10 mins, or jump of the elliptical machine, until you've warmed up.

Then stretch, stretch, stretch, stretch as much as you can and be sure to stop if you feel pain that's not normal stretching pain/discomfort.  For the splits you want to stretch your entire legs and gluteals before you start practicing your splits. The only way to become more flexible is to stretch.  You will become more limber slowly.

I have no idea what back walkovers are.

I hope this helps.  Good luck Gumby!

  4. buy combat stretching by matt furey. you'll thank me afterwards.

  5. keep practicing and make sure you do some stretches before you do it. u will soon become  more flexible. practice makes perfect.

    good luck! xx

  6. Have you tried taking your clothes off? I hear that they can reduce your flexibility by up to 17%

  7. Just keep on stretching.  The older you are the more you need to stretch the muscles.  When I was doing Tae Kwon Do as a teenager and I stretched really good 5 times a week I could still barely do full split.  Now, guys aren't really supposed to be bending that way, but I was, like, 15, and stretching hardcore 5 times a week, and I still couldn't do it.

The only way to become more flexible is to stretch.

  8. i started doin backwalkovers when i was like 6, they are easir for girls than boys...my bro still cnt figure how to do one! lol. but i leared by startin with forward rolls, cart wheels, back bends then back bend kick overs then backwalkovers.

in gymnastics, we fist learned to stand with our back to the wall and walk down the wall with our hands, thats really good for flexiblility. the main point of being flexible is sticking to your routine, every morning, do a bridge (back bend) and hold it for a minute, do the same at night. also what is good is like do a backbend then try to stand up from out of your backbend, coming straight up with no hands, it takes back muscles and stomach muscles!

  9. tae kwon do can help with with that sort of thing or even if you can find somewhere which teached the movement aspect of ninjitsu
