I would like to get my garden soil tested for pesticides. Anyone out there do this before?

Where did you send your sample? How much was it? What kind of report did you get? Was it worth it?

If in the USA, your state will have a college that is a land grant institute or equivalent.  Examples are Clemson, Auburn, NCState, etc.  Contact the ag school or the extension office for labs or procedures in your area.  If the state does it, it will be free or minimal cost.  The reports will vary greatly as far as how many pesticides they test in a sample.  The Va Tech links are the first two references.

There are labs that specialize in this because a normal screen (the kind you get cheap) only look at some of the possibilities.  An example is given as the reference.  Unless you have specific information of something being used, a general screen is usually good enough.

You can sent it to the department of agriculture and they can test it for all kinds of things.
