I would like to go away to college...?

My mom works at a local university and I get an 80% fee waiver. However, I would really like to get out of the house. I feel like my mom is afraid of me leaving. But, it has to happen some time. Should I just look at apartments near the university?

I would stay on campus.

Your mom is probably more afraid of having to pay out-of-state tuitions for you, when she could save 80% on an in-state school.
