  1. I'm pretty sure it does cost, we were given leaflets about it at school and i think for like a "full" package pass it was like $395 but that included accommodation and food.

Package B, was $335 and didn't include accommodation

but maybe thats only if your a pilgrim do you have to pay?

    i'm not sure

I think that's only if you register, which gives you priority access over events that are being held in smaller venues but other than that you don't have to register

if you're Christian then it will of course be an amazing experience that you shouldn't miss out on if you're already in Sydney. It'll be pretty safe, the government has given it's support and it is a religious event after all.

    Try this:

http://www.wydca.nsw.gov.au/safety-and-s... (i think thats just about calling 000)

  2. DEFINITELY u have to go if you have the chance. If your a committed Christian why waste a possible once in a lifetime opportunity. I would love to go but because of last second events i am not able to go.

Its absolutely safe and would be one of the highlights of your life, i highly recommend you go!

As for the cost im not too sure about it, maybe you should try google or go on the world youth day 2008 website- it has everything you need.

God Bless and welcome all pilgrims all around the world for World Youth Day 2008!

"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses" (Acts 1:8)

  3. I think you are better off looking to Christ and what he accomplished on the cross. Read Ephesians 2:8-9 carefully.

  4. I guess if you're religious you should, HOWEVER:

The government shouldn't support this event AT ALL, because AUSTRALIA ISN'T A CHRISTIAN COUNTRY. There is no official religion here. I'm really offended by the government's support.

  5. Absolutely! You are lucky that you are already in Australia. It wouldn't be as much difficult as if you are halfway across the globe like others.

Is it a safe event? of course it is. organizers are more than prepared for this. it's a big one so safety and security is Ok.

Costs? I don't know much cos i already am in Sydney. But if you are planning it cheap, then i suggest you pack wisely, with all the things you need (so you won't buy stuff anymore), book with affordable hotels . i suggest you book online (more cheaper than walk-in).
