I'd have to agree with Edward on this one and recommend that you look into bicycle trailers to haul around golf clubs with your bicycle.  I wouldn't worry as there are a wide variety of bicycle trailers made for various types of bicycles, including Mountain bikes (MTB) and their varied frame types with their suspension do-dads.  If you've been looking, I want you to know, that they're not limited to hauling general cargo, kids, and pets.  I do know for a fact that Wike bicycle trailers do have a trailer specifically designed for golf clubs that's well below $150, so that's something to look into if it's in your price range.

    The only real concern is that bicycle trailer hitches are typically made of plastic, so be ready to have to replace those every so often depending on how worn they get, but that should answer your question and help you bring your bike to the links.  Also, don't forget to place reflectors on that golf bag so drivers can see you if you use it on the roads, lighted ones if you're riding the bike back after sunset.  Best of luck to you, and have fun on the links.
