  1. A good start would be learning how to spell Sydney properly.

  2. I've lived in alot of places, no where comes close to Sydney.I grew up there and it stole my heart as a boy, just love it.even more so  than ever as I now live in the UK.

Mini has done well with her info.

  3. Yeah "Emigrating" to Sydney would work - it's a relatively modern, cosmopolitan city - I like it.

However, I'd suggest that you look at the Australian Government Website and their points system to see if you can and/or try before you buy - get a working holiday visa......

  4. it s bloody awesome m8!!! but it s very difficult to get a visa unless u have 1 of  the trade or skills required by the gov.

  5. Hi,

Sydney is the capital of expats and most foreigners move to Sydney when they say they're moving to Australia :-). It's a very nice city and very multicultural.

Most global companies set up their headquarters in Sydney. So there are a lot of opportunities workwise.

You can navigate around the city by train or busses. Driving in the city can be a nightmare (traffic, hard to find parking and expensive to park).

Living wise, the weather's very nice all year round (not too hot or cold compare to the other cities in Australia). Temperature ranging from 14-35C. Sydney encourages outdoor activities. One of the obvious one is the beach lifestyle. The city's built near the water. Beaches are within close proximities to the city. You can do lots of outdoor activities, from just lying in the beach, having brunches near the bay suburbs, to swimming, surfing, cycling to diving.

Being multicultural, you can get many food and experience different culture. Asian food in Sydney's the best compare to any other capital cities in Australia, however you can experience Lebanese/middle eastern, Greek, Italian or just simply modern Australian as well.

Rent in Sydney is quite expensive compare to other major capital cities in Australia. This is because there're a lot of demand that pushes the price up. So do your research properly (www.realestate.com.au). Where you live depending on your lifestyle (whether you'd like to live near the water, swanky cafe strips suburbs with younger crowds, or more family oriented wiht parks), other than that of course depending on your budget and how much you'd llike to commute to work.

Sydney parks are like Australian parks. Unlike certain cities in US and Europe (where Parks are gated and they're closed on certain hours), Parks in Sydney are open all day and have no gate. So you could kick football, have BBQ wiht friends or simply just lying around reading books :-).

You can do your grocery shopping in Supermarket such as woolworths, coles, aldi or to many Sydney markets selling fresh food and vegetables.

Travel wise, From Sydney to other major capital cities in Australia (Melbourne) will take you 1.5 hrs flight. While From Sydney to the nearest country (other than new zealand) i.e. Singapore will take you a good 7.5 hrs flight.

Around Sydney they have nice beach towns such as new castle and wollongong. Sydney's also famous for its perisher blue ski resort (during winter). You can head to the blue mountain national park as well.

Sydney's certainly livable for foreigners. you can work and play as well (surfing and swimming in the beach and skiing during winter).

    Hope this helps :-)

  6. def.

just come back from 4 weeks backpacking and didn't meet one Australian in Sydney!!

so if your after a huge city full of foreigners - its for you!!

  7. Melbourne is the sports capital/ fashion capital and the arts capital of Australia and has been consistently voted among the top 2-3 most livable cities in the world. It is also the 'Garden' state and has major international sporting events such as the Australian Tennis Open, Australian Formula1 GP, Australian MotoGP and so on... Sydney on the other hand is very crowded, extremely expensive and the crime rate is fairly high.
