  1. Chickens are actually good for the garden;-} they eat lots of bugs.

Their p**p is also good fertilizer for the garden;-} back to organic.

Just use cut pop-bottles to surround your plant stems.

  2. A Pin wheel won't work ~ I've tried. Your best bet is just to buy a roll of 4" wide chicken wire (either metal of plastic) and rig a temporary fence around the garden. For posts, you can use something cheap like bamboo rods since all you are doing is keeping out chickens. I have 4 chickens of my own and they do seem to avoid flying over anything higher than 3 feet.

Plastic fencing material is pretty cheap ~ I think I may have paid less than $10 for a 20 foot roll of 4' wide.

  3. Regular Sunday fried chicken dinners should eventually take care of this problem.

  4. mmmm delicious.  Chicken and a lovely pasta primavera would be a solution.  Or, just get a big ole dog.  Really.  Actually, seriously, the chickens are probably providing a service for your garden.  They scratch and go crazy in the mulch rite???  Well, aeration is one of the best things for the soil...I would try putting a fence around my plants and then planting a few veg. plants outside the fence to keep the little hens happy.  Or try getting several of those rubber snakes and place them around your garden.  Just remember to move them.  The chickens are smarter than you think...good luck
