  1. I don't know if you are being moved with a job or not.  But if this is a "choice" thing, I really don't think you will like England after living in Texas.  The cost of living is way higher, the weather is way worse, unemployment is rampant, and crime is really bad in the cities.  I dont know why you would want to move to UK - most people there would kill to be able to emigrate to the States, Australia or Canada.

But if you really want to go, move down south towards the coast, or up north closer to Cheshire, Yorkshire, or further north.  Stay away from the cities like Manchester, Birmingham London etc.   Check our the link below just to see what house costs are...you will freak at how expensive they are....http://www.viviun.com/Real_Estate/UK/    remember too the prices are list in pounds sterling not $$ - the exchange rate is about 2.00.so basically double the pounds to figure out the $$'s

  2. unless you have work already lined up, you can't just move here

you need to have skills we are in desperate need of, or you need to be transferred with a company you already work for

we are getting very full as an island, and there is not enough housing or jobs and this is why the government is taking these measures because there is just not enough room for everyone
