I would like to know about System Configuration Utility.can u tell me in detail?

Question

i had a problem so i asked a qus a few days ago(i wanted to remove item from task bar)so some one told me about it.now i want to lean about all of it option what is boot.ini,services etc.if i uncheck all of item from the startup tab what will happen?and what r other things there in System Configuration Utility?

In msconfig the boot up tab you can disable all but the necessary ones needed to operate you computer.

You need your key board, mouse, anti virus etc to run computer safely.

Remember it only disables it from boot up and they can still be used by clicking on them.

The reason people change boot up is gain ram memory.

My necessary ones are PS2,(mouse) KBD, (key board) Rec Guard, CC App. Plus my anti virus etc.

As far as task bar there are 2, one shows boot up the other quick launch.

You can delete the ones out of quick launch or add by dragging them down to your quick launch, the other on right shows certain ones that are needed but you can control by right clicking on quick launch (blank space) the property's and modify them by clicking customize, then if you want them to show or hide.

Removing or disabling Items on Start up will not be automatically run when you start your computer and you have to start it manually.



You can find in the System Configuration Utility

General/ Start Up selection/Normal Start up/Diagnostic start up/Selective Startup.

Boot/ your OS that loads.

Services/ Applications that are running or stopped.

Start Up/ Application and device that should run automatically.
