  1. i lived and worked there for 12 yrs till a few yrs ago. the lifestyle is great, it was like being on holiday for 12 yrs, cost of living is i believe now quite expensive but its up to u savings can be made depedning on yr lifestyle, housing is very expensive, if u work for an airline accommodation is usually provided during stopovers, otherwise ensure that if u take a job yr salary is enough to cover housing costs or get a job where the employer will pay the housing costs.

  2. My dad is a pilot for emirates airline so my family has lived here for 7 years. i moved from new zealand when i was 9 and i loved i but i am now 15 and i hate it. in terms of things to do as a teen there is: shopping, beaches (if you dont mind being perved at), house parties, being rebellious, drinking. yup thats pretty much it to do. because the laws are so strict here teens tend to try and act rebellious like i have seen my friends change just because they are bored of following the law. i guess if you love shopping it would be heaven but i hate it so i dont have much to do. you cant even kiss in public, you can be put in jail for that. and the weather in the summer is terrible, i went outside today and almost died. im finally escaping and going to boarding school in nz in january. the education is fantastic here and i feel as though dubai has given me wonderfull opertunities to travel the world. this may not be of any help to you but this is just my experience. dubai has been a great place for me to grow up but i need to settle back into the nz society before uni.

good luck with everything.  xx :)

  3. In the past year, things in Dubai have gone to the dogs. Traffic is horrible and road tolls are being introduced all the time. Rents are exorbitant, school fees in the western schools ridiculously high. Landlords don't bother to maintain your home and expect you to do it yourself. Food prices that were low all these years have shot up. Visas are very expensive. you will like that having domestic help is very inexpensive as it seems everyone exploits the labor. Cruel but true.Construction laborers are treated worse than animals. They work long hours in sweltering hot temps and then made to live in cramped and filthy camps. Some companies offer great salaries and perks. - like housing, school , air tickets, health insurance  If you can manage that they go for it It is geographically well located so you will be able to see the whole world from here. i live in abu dhabi. moved herefrom dubai 6 months ago and we are so pleased we did. This place is much more calm although more islamic.

  4. I am a local and living in Dubai, I can tell you how local life is, I mean Emirati people,

Actually they are so helpful and kind people, and they like to help other people no matter where he/she is from.

Also, we have a very strong social life and we care about our family and for us, family is everything,,

What I think, the cost of living is very high for foreigner and it is difficult for someone that her/his salary is not more than AED 10,000 monthly ( $ 2,726) because nowadays, everything is becoming much more expensive than before,

Life in Dubai is very interesting and you can see lots of many nationalities and you will learn how to respect other point of view, because only Dubai has more than 150 nationalities, so it is the multinational city,

About the airline industry, they can provide excellent salary, for example, I was fresh graduate and have Human Recourses Management degree, so when I wanted to apply there the salary was AED 15,000 as a fresh graduate with no experience. So is will be a great opportunity if you want to apply there,,,,
