I would like to know about the city of Barranquilla Colombia?

I am think about going to Barranquilla in the next few months I like to know if is safe to go alone? What to see there? anything to avoid? Are the women friendly. And I be staying at hotel Windsor is new doese anyone know it. SO is it worth going will I come home in one piece?

First visit the www.travel.gov.

There is a travel warning for those travelling to Colombia.  Contact the U.S. Embassy for lists of recommended hotels in Colombia.  Provide your contact info in case they need to contact you.

Adhere to your drink at especially if you are with a girl you don't know.  Try not to travel to a place in the city you are not familar with.  If you are going there to meet someone, meet at the hotel!

Colombia is becoming safer and a great place to have fun, but use common sense when you are around strangers.  Hotel concierge (tip well)  will direct you in the right way.  ENJOY!

wow, i am colombian and i lived in the neighboring city of barranquilla, santa marta, and i went to barranquilla almost every weekend because its really beautiful there. go to beaches, just go out and have fun, go to places where many tourists go so you can feel more safe, women are very pretty, just like me, lol, just have fun and people are very friendly, wear comfy and light clothes because it is hot, and dont wear a lot of jewerly, if you know why. hope u have fun!

Barranquilla is a very nice city and among the safest I have seen in Colombia.  Mind you, it is Colombia, but if you take basic precautions (avoid certain areas, don't wear jewlery, don't have an expensive camera hanging from your neck, etc) you should be fine.  Just ask the hotel which areas to avoid.

The city offers some clasic colonial Architecture and is near some nice tropical beaches.

The weather is very hot!

Women (like in many places in Colombia) are nice and friendly if you behave decently.
