I would like to know how long the medication, xanax stays in a persons blood stream.?

i have a prescription for them but the new job i'm applying for will drug screen me, and i'd rather not say anything about my trouble with mild anxiety.

You don't have to tell your new employer, but you do have to tell the person that administers the drug test as Xanax will result in a positive result for narcotics on the test. They can't tell your employer that you take Xanax due to confidentiality regulations. Just don't lie about it because you could lose your job.

Generally, anti-anxiety type drugs have a 72hour half life, which means about 4 days for your purposes. You might want to push that envelope to 1 week if possible, just to be sure, and increase water intake to 8  8oz. glasses per day.
