  1. Use the link in the above posting to get the NJ Transit RR information to NY Penn Station.  When you get to NY Penn Station, follow signs to the the NYC subway #1, 2, 3 trains (numbers in red circles) take any train one stop UPTOWN to 42nd St-Times Square.  At Times Square use the stairs on the platform to go DOWNSTAIRS for the #7 train (number in a purple circle).  Take that to Willets Point-Shea Stadium.  Depending on the time of day that you go there may be express #7 service.  If you see a purple 7 in a circle then the train is a local. if it is a 7 in a purple diamond then it is an express.

For the subway purchase a MetroCard at either a vending machine near the turnstiles or at an attended booth.  Buy a $4.00 card to cover your round trip [$2.00 each way]  (you can put more on if there is more than one person going with you).   Machines accept cash and credit/debit cards.  The booths are cash only with a minimum purchase of $4.00.    If you use cash at the machine keep in mind that the maximum change given is $6 (includes dollar coins).

Edit:  I used the link in the first answer.  You had better give yourself a LOT of travel time.  It will take at least 3 1/2 hours  to 4 hours from Cherry Hill to NY Penn station because you have to walk (or take a bus) to the RiverLine light rail station, take that to the Trenton NJ Transit station and then travel to NYC.  Add about 45 minutes to an hour for the NYC subway (to allow for time to get from the railroad train to the subway, and travel time on the subway).  Your total trip one way could be close to 5 hours.  It may be a bit less if you travel during rush hours as NJ Transit does have express service to NYC during that time.

Unless you already have tickets to the ballgame or the Tennis tournements - you may want to rethink the trip.

  2. On New Jersey Transit's Trip Planner on this link,

    enter your starting point as

address, "525 Rt 38 and Choose "Cherry Hill, New Jersey."

For destination, select NYC Landmarks and look for Shea Stadium.

Choose the dates and times, "what time you want to depart or arrives.

Please note NJ Transit Trip Planner does not include $2 price of MTA NYCT Subways.
