Brands are specific with each ranch by location and type. Brands are also registered in each state. The best thing to do is contact your states agg extension to find out to whom the brand is registered.

The brand on your horse might come from a ranch in Texas, Nevada, California, Idaho. So the best course of action is to start with your states agg extension, even if the brand is not registered in your state they can help you find out where the horse came from. Luck

what state did you get him in? You could send a picture of it to your state brand board or go to a book store and buy a brand book for your state or which ever state he came from.
