Since India has open borders treaty with Nepal, it is very hard to exactly figure out how many Nepalis live in India. Nepalis frequently come to India for better job prospects and after earning desired money, return back to Nepal. I know for sure that there are at least 1 million Nepalis in India out of which 50,000 serve the Gurkha regiment of Indian Army.
