  1. The best way is to go to Spain.  However, Spanish is spoken in a variety of ways over here, too.  There are many accents and regional idiosyncrasies.  If you want to learn Castillian Spanish, you need to go to Castilla y León, try getting in contact with the "Estudios Internacionales" at the University of Salamanca. Their Spanish is considered pure and it's an interesting university town.

There are also four official languages in Spain, in case you didn't know.

One tip, if you already speak some Spanish, the European Spanish pronunciation is different from the Latin-American ones.  For example, the word "hacer".  The "c" in "hacer" is pronounced the same as the "th" in "thin" not like "s".  Before the vowels "i" and "e" it has this "th" sound.

  2. Lots of online courses may suit you?

  3. Learn Spanish for free

  4. Custer rulez give her the 10 points

    she's right

  5. Well, you can either learn by getting

    -a tutor

    -tapes or CD's

    -or traveling to Spain

-or visiting a course in person or online

in all of these cases look/ask for Spanish as spoken in Spain or CASTELLANO (although this term is, I believe,  also used in Argentina, Chile... but it's often meant to refer to "Spanish as in Spain" because the name Castellano stems from the kingdom of Castile which is in today's Spain)

if you flip through books on your own - if the "vosotros" is used in the declination (yo, tu, il, ella, nosotros, vosotros, etc. for I, you, he, she, we, YOU)  it should be Spanish=Castellano, because this form is not generally used in Middle/South America, "ustedes" is used there.

    Have fun learning!

  6. Custers has given you a very good answer... THere are many universities in Spain that have summer spanish courses for foreign students, That would be your best bet...

Besides the University of Salamanca...  (www.usal.es)

You coud check out the Universities of :

    Valladolid  (www.uva.es)

Alcala de Henares (near Madrid) (www.uah.es)

    Madrid (www.ucm.es)

    and there are many more.

If you have to learn it in your own country, try and find a spaniard to teach you. Latin americans will teach you the language gramatically perfect, but will not have the accent you are asking about. If you have satelite TV, you could watch the spanish international channel. One of the best ways to help learn a language is to watch tv and listen to the radio in that language.

    Buena Suerte!
