When you make stuff you like, write down what you did and what you used, and then compile your recipes in to a book.  I've been doing this for about 2 years, when I make something new that I like, I put it in my "recipe book", which is really just a word document on my computer and when people need recipe ideas, I just print them out a copy of all my recipes and let them take it home...my cooking is in most of my friends kitchens.

Gooseberry Patch has a wonderful blank recipe cookbook.  It is called "My Favorite Recipes".  It is just like a cookbook that you would buy only the pages are blank with different sections such as:  Breakfast, Appetizers, etc. and even sections that you can label yourself.  I have labeled one of mine "Canning".  There is also an index section in the back that you can fill out with the page numbers.
