I live in Sri Lanka where there are plenty of coconut & pineapples but no red berry fruit, no sloes available either. Usual fruit is oranges, apples, grapes, kiwi etc are available.

Any ideas for fruit I can add to gin?

Thanks.

  1. I would definitely forget the grapes and coconuts. On my list of suggestions would be the following:

    Oranges

    Apples

    Kiwi

    Pineapples

    Mango

    Peaches

You could try some pears with some sugar.

I don't know what a sloe is. I'm from the U.S. What you can do is soak your gin and then pour it back into a bottle, and have the fruit to eat. But I would eat small portions of it at a time, not a big bite, because it will be very strong an pungent. Experiment with a cheap bottle. Then get the Bombay. Tanqueray would not be a good gin to try and flavor I don't think, because they make it with special ingredients so it tastes a certain way.
