Trust me online degrees are not considered a joke anymore :) go ahead for your degree without worrying about its legitimacy. ll you need to do is find an ACCREDITED online college or university, or else yeah your degree would be nothing but a piece of paper.

It's all about the reputation of the college and not about online vs classroom.  Pick the best college you can get into and study there.
