  1. I just gave A bunch to the Art teacher at school, and the local library takes them too... other patrons can then pick through them for free...  also pass them on to a friend!!!


  2. Some churches also have recycling bins in their parking lots along with the usual newspaper and aluminum cans.

  3. If the magazines are age appropriate, you might want to find a local teacher or librarian who can use them for "cut and paste" activities in the classrooms.

  4. Take some to all the local day cares. They love to cut them up for collage projects.  Also, leave some at your doctor's office and dentist's office and car repair waiting room.  Remember to cut off your name/address label before you give them to anyone.

  5. There's a recycling center on Queen Chapel Rd.  (it runs from Jefferson Rd on past Brewington Rd. ).   The recycling center isn't far from the Queen chapel & Brewington Rd intersection.

    You can recycle any paper products, metals, plastics, & on the weekends they take yard waste.  It's open Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, & Sun.

  6. A few ideas for where to donate the magazines would be...

    elementary schools (they use them when learning the alphabet... batter woman shuttlers...senior buildings...

  7. There are magazine recycling bins at Millersville University.

    If you have magazines such as Time, The Economist, Newsweek, Allure.... The lancaster chapter of SDS (students for a democratic society) are collecting items including magazines for care packages to be sent to US soldiers in Iraq.

  8. most of the time a local school will have recycling bins where you should be able to recycle them, i don't know where you are from but there are also curb side recycling in our area if you don't have one maybe a neighbor might and you could ask to put the magazine in there recycle bin. hope this helps.

  10. you don't always have to recycle the three Rs and reuse is one of them take to a seniors centre,walk in clinics,hospital waiting rooms,day cares,your child's school young ones love to cut and paste these types of things(also old large shirts for painting classes)woman's shelters ,hospices

  11. take em 2 public skools and there will be recycle bins and cans!

  13. Your local oncology clinic.  Cancer patients spend hours just sitting and receiving chemo and the magazines get old.

  14. If you can't find someone to give them to, try looking for a recycling facililty on http://www.earth911.org. They have a large database of recycling locations around the US. They try but their list sometimes misses some, so if nothing is listed in  your neck of the woods, call your local (city or county) Clerk's office they can help point you in the right direction.
