  1. If you try to sell it at a jeweler, he will give you less than half the replacement value.

Selling it at ebay auction is a far better option, especially if you have a certified gemnologist's certificate for the diamond to prove its value.

  2. Don't sell it in the newspaper.  That can be very, very, dangerous.

You don't know the person coming to your house to look at your jewelry.  Never put the price in the newspaper, $2,022.00 is a lot for someone to "hurt," or otherwise harm you.

If you have a police officer friend, ask him or her to come to your house while the prospective purchaser is there with you.

If you have friends or family with quality jewelry, ask them to refer you to their jeweler.

Never, put ads in the newspaper for something like that.

    It's very dangerous!

Remember the person on Craigslist that thought she was going to interview for a nanny job?  One must be very careful these days.

If the person coming to your house looks suspicious, don't let them in the house to see the ring.  Tell them you are not feeling well and will have to reschedule.

What you want to do is not a good idea.  Please get someone you know very well, to sit with you, preferably a big beefy male!

  3. Why not try e-bay..put a reserve price on it so it will not go for less than you want..of course, you price might be too high.you will find that out also.........
