...I am planning (if the company agrees) to have a short explanation on my site and receive a commission/fee in exchange for any sales the come from my site.

My question is how to I set up the tracking so I know when people are buying their product having come from my site?

All advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

  1. Most good affiliate networks eg commission junction provide you with tracking as long as you generate your codes properly you should be fine

With clickbank, you have the opportunity of adding a tracking id as well

To learn how to track visitors on your own site look at http://www.affiliatemarketingintro.com/W...

  2. I agree with Ami. There is going to have to be some trust that they will pay you.

There is a simple way to determine the amount of times someone clicks the button on your site. Obv there's no way for you to know if there was a sale consummated but if I was making nothing and getting multiple clicks I'd be suspicious.

I'd have an email sent to me everytime someone clicked. You could store this in a database or do both but keeping  this thing simple here may be the easiest.

Basically when a person clicks the button on your site they will be sent to the sellers site. It will generate an email to you saying that someone has clicked through. You can keep a simple running tally of the emails during a month. If you don't feel like you have been getting paid properly you could have the documentation to back it up.

This is very simple to implement.
