  1. In the email write, "Write me back when you get this"

  2. It depends on what email host you have. I use outlook and it offers a reciept confirmation. It confirms when the recipient opens the actual email. Very nifty.  Maybe yours has one too?

  3. You can type in the end of the message for them to send a message back if they recive it

  4. ask them to confirm maybe?

  5. EGOTIT for OUTLOOK

    Description

Universal email confirmation. Email anyone on the Internet and know if it was read. If an email is not opened within a specified time the sender gets a warning notification. The process is invisible to the receiver and is unobtrusive. Easy to use, no learning curve. Reports are available on-line showing: - Undelivered mail only- or - All emails sent sorted by date or by recipient . Independent of receivers mail reading software or IP provider. Email thus becomes a reliable means of sending correspondence.

  6. no clue

  7. Just mention it.  Say "please reply so I know you got this."  But they won't necessarily do so, especially if you are a stranger to them.  A reply confirms that you have the correct email address for them, and they may not want to do that.

I don't think there is any way to know for sure, except that if you don't get a "mailer daemon" notice, they probably did get it.  They may have deleted it without even reading it, but they got it.  Or someone did.
