  1. There is a lot of competition for work from home jobs. I got started using online freelance sites, and ultimately built a business with clients that I found through them.

http://www.scriptlance.com/ (Free - Best in my opinion)

    http://work-at-home-tips.blogspot.com/ (Excellent info)

    http://www.gofreelance.com/ (Free - Good site)

http://www.elance.com/ (Biggest, but kind of expensive)

    http://american-data-entry.blogspot.com/ (Excellent info)

The first link is mainly programming, but there are other jobs there as well.

You may have more luck with the third website.

  2. woudlnt we all.

  3. These answers sometimes! I really don't think people even read the question before they start going on about whatever it is that is suppose to "help" you. Anyway, find something that interest you and you would be happy and enjoy doing. Something you can see yourself doing. What do you want out of a job? What are you goals? When you figure this part out, just start doing research. Thorough research. If you decide to get into a business, make sure you are well informed and comfortable before making any commitment or investment. I have experience in this and would be happy to help you. Email if you would like info!:)

  4. There is a site where u can find genuine Data Entry jobs/Work at Home jobs online without any up front costs. Work at home data entry Resources. Guides on identifying Work at home Job Scams and a lot more.

  5. Try selling things online.  Setting things online is easy, what to sell is another question.  Take a look at http://www.silkfair.com.

  6. The work from home jobs that aren't scams actually require work on your part - and if you're in need of money soon then you're likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build - so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn't true ( and those that are true sure didn't make that kind of money when they first began ).

Time & effort required - but do your own research on what is best for you, don't take the advice of myself and others as gospel from this type of public website.

I have other ideas that may help - one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself - try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don't have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc - they need their "in-house" folks doing other things rather than busy work.

  7. There are a lot of businesses that you can start and work from home on the computer.  (Home based businesses)  What are your interests? What do you know how to do?  I have quite a few friends that are in the telecommunications industry. Also friends in the travel industry.  Do you like to sale, or do a service?  So many opportunities out there.  Without knowing your back ground, it's hard to refer you over to any industry to look into.  I do know of an article that was written that has a log of information on home based businesses and several different industries to look into.  They are all really good businesses to have, and all give you a really good opportunity to make the amount of money you want.  Hope this helps!http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-eqfAfFMlc...

  8. "If a company requires initial payment from you in order to work for them, they are not legitimate."

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.

If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as 'Best'.
