  1. try googling teen auditions or visit this site

    http://actingingo.blogspot.com

  2. Auditions.

When you walk in have a smile on your face, walk to the casting directors (the people at the table), give them your H&R (head shot and resume), and then do what you must. If auditioning for a movie or commercial that includes singing continue reading if not look for where i have bold letters and start again.

now go over and give your sheet music to the pianist. Make sure you have marked the start of the 16 bars, and the ending. Give him a tempo, and tell him whether you want him to play an intro or to give u the starting note, and then you start and him follow along. (i recommend the second). make sure you know all of the lyrics and the tune, in case you are required to keep singing, do not be shocked!! also be aware, they may stop you early but this does not mean they did not like you.

OK START READING HERE IF SINGING DOES NOT APPLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

now if you must cold read, make sure that you do not stare at the paper the whole time you read, the casting directors want to get a sense of what you are like, and your personality. If you already know the mood then act the mood, do not just be bright and bubbly, because you may be saying i want to kill you. (unless of course you have a weird character.. hahaa).  If you are giving a side (section of the script) before your audition keep reading, if not then once again look for the bold letters or capitalized or w/e u want to call them.

ok now what you want to do is take the side, and write all over it. no not just mumbojumbo but actions you want to have while you are reading the side. (i.e wave, peace sign, etc.). Then if you have a long enough side try to find a character arc, which is when the character changes in the dialogue. example, do they start happy, and end crying? You wouldnt be happy the whole time and suddenly switch to crying, you have to have a build up, so decide which lines are hints to the feelings. Then underline main words in the line that you need to put some umph into. hahaha.

OK KEEP READING (yes this is obnoxiously long sorry...)

if you are just cold reading then try your best to skim over it very fastly. and then turn around. yes turn around. get into your character. and then turn around again and be a different person. then have a dramatic pause, this is something i can not tell you, you must feel it, and then start reading. when you are done, do not say thanks im finished, stop and be your character until the directors cut you off. After this you are done. no matter what they say say thank you for this opportunity, and then gracefully walk out!

    OK.

This was a lot to take in, and some of it is advanced stuff. so just do an audition, and try to take in as many of these tips as you can. the only way to learn is to try!

    BREAK A LEG!

ok one. dont get an agent now. wait until your successful or else there will be no point, because a good agent will not want you. thats harsh but the truth. also try classes. and i know you dont want to do theater, but it is a good idea to try it, because theater is the roots of every other type of acting, so it is good to get a little experience in that department, but that is just my opinion.

    and for clothing

    your a girl.

dont wear anything toooo revealing, nor conservative. show that you love your body (even if you dont), in a good way. make sure you wear something flattering!!. But once again that is for you to judge, and if you are not sure if its good ask someone, how do i look?

  3. get an agent

  4. Well get some headshots, take some classes and then try to get an agent, but if you truly want to be a good actor, theater is where you should start. It is a common misconception that the best actors are on the screen, but truly the best actors are on the stage. I have done some screeen acting and it is nowhere near as fulfilling as being on stage, PLus, if you can do theater, you cana ct on stage.
