I am a teenager and would like to start drinking tea, just because I love that feeling of something warm to drink when I'm stressed. I tried coffee but I'm not too thrilled with it and would much rather have tea. Anyways I have never really drank tea before, so I need some help deciding which kind to start off with. What kind of tea do you suggest for a new tea drinker? Also I am a vegan, so the tea cannot have honey or dairy in it. Thank you :)

  1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Republic of Tea brand hot tea.  I like it straight up...no cream, sugar or anything like that yuck.  They have a website.

    www.republicoftea.com

They have all kinds of tea...red, white, green, black.

I recommend the Mango Ceylon and the Orange Spice green tea.

  2. You mentioned that you would like to drink something warm when feeling stressed.  One tea that comes to mind is Chamomille tea.  It is caffeine free and mild in flavor.  It also helps one relax.  You might also want to explore flavored teas.

  3. If you're not yet accustomed to teas, I would recommend an oolong or a black tea. Black teas are often just called tea or regular tea, and it is the kind of tea we drink the most outside of Asia. Oolong (or wulong) is a very tasty tea, a bit lighter than black tea.

Green tea can be an acquired taste, because they have a pretty "grassy" taste that takes some getting used to. But they are healthy. If you want to go straight to the best (and priciest) stuff, white tea could be just the thing, and it's also the healthiest tea there is.

Whatever you decide, I would suggest drinking loose leaf teas instead of tea made from teabags. There is a world of difference, and you will soon have your favorites.

  4. Green or white teas are very tasty, mild & super healthy with low caffeine! My newest favorite is Rooibos (pronounced roy-boss) tea from South Africa and readily available here in the states. It's from a bush, not actually a tea.....more like herbal tea & tastes YUMMY! No caffeine & very fruity tasting. I add a bit of organic sugar & it's sooooooo refreshing! Makes good iced tea too. I often leave it sit out and drink it room temp or pop it in the fridge, but it's very soothing hot. Chamomile is very calming & nice too. I also like Twinings English Breakfast Tea.

         GOOD LUCK!!!

  5. green teas and black teas are the most beneficial- lots of antioxidants, but feel free to experiment.  also, experiment with how long you let the tea steep for- the longer the stronger, etc

  6. Green or White tea will be the healthiest. They have many more antioxidents than others and only 30mg of caffeine per serving.

Above that is oolong tea. It has a few less antioxidents and 40mg of caffeine.

The most widely used tea is Black/Red tea. It is still good for us but it is has the least antioxidents and has 50mg of caffeine.

All of which are better than coffee as it has no antioxidents and has 85mg caffeine.

  7. Mistic Ice Tea all the way

  8. chi tea is the best. it has a lot of herbs and stuff its really good. you dont even need milk with it. just sugar

  9. Tea you get in the store can be a little bland. My favorite tea is from the Republic of Tea. There are a lot of different flavors to choose from. If you have to do store bought go with Celestial Seasonings and pick something that sounds good to you. A nice berry tea is a good start but look for one that is caffeine free. Chamomile is good, relaxing tea, caffeine free and will calm the monthly demon as well.

  10. Try green tea. There are flavoured varieties, like Jasmine Green tea (which has a floral taste) and citrus varieties like Lemon Green tea (that has a zesty taste).

Green tea has lots of antioxidants in it, and it's said to slow down cellular degeneration. In simple terms, it can help keep you looking young. It's an acquired taste but I like it.

Tip- don't drink teas with meals as substances in tea called tannins reduce iron absorption  :-)

  11. im a teenager also and i recently started drinking tea and i like hot tea the best or green tea...sometimes you have to be careful of the tea with flavors because some can completely throw off the taste and so it's not good. Green tea is good if you're goin to the beach and need something cold...hope i helped!!

  12. iprefer mint tea.

    no honey or anything needed.

except it is very good with sugar ;D

iprefer mint tea, weather its cold or hot =D

its in a lime green box of tea bags.

    its.. bigelow: plantation mint.

oh & im a vegetarin working on being a vegan. XD
