You need to research your topic very well, generate a list of keywords that are likely to be found by the search engines, and write unique and genuinely useful content about each keyword.

If you want to make money from your site, and have about 30 or so pages written, then you can start considering your options. Google Adsense, Chitika, Kontera, and dozens of other companies can generate advertising revenue for very little effort.

Other options are subscriptions, selling a product related to football, etc
