I always use the CD-R.W disk,you can keep adding pictures to those as you want....With a CD-R you cannot add pictures later!

verify that you have a cd or cd/dvd burner for blank disc,

~then buy the correct disc format to burn / copy files on to,

~if only cd rom burner you want cd-r or cd+r ,

~if burner i dvd/cd rom , then you can buy bother or either cd / dvd blank discs,

~once you have hardware and disc, usually burner come with software like nero, run nero or other program, select files from folder, and add to cd folder, select options to burn files on to cd/dvd,

~ dvd software may be compatible to burn video for watching pictures on tv if needed,

Probably the best way today would be to put them on a flash drive for portability.  If you just want to put them onto a disc and place it somewhere to collect dvd a plain old cd-r will work great.  You can use a DV-R for about 5x the storage, but 4.4Gig is a heck of a lot of pics.  If you use a DVR you will need a DVD writer and for the flash drive you will need a usb port.
