  1. Good answers above, but there's a few towns left out. Like Oaxaca--a charming colonial town in the mountains.  Campeche and Veracruz on the Gulf Coast.  And close to Guadalajara and the towns of Chapala and Ajijic on Lake Chapala (Mexico's largest lake).

Get a Mexico guide book and read through it--that would give you more ideas than a couple paragraphs on Y!A.

  2. come to guadalajara and ill take u out for a beer :D

  3. Good answer Bubba  took the words out of my mouth !

  4. My personal bias would be to recommend Guadalajara. This is the second largest city in Mexico and has the best of both worlds: all of the modern conveniences and entertainment of a metropolis along with a lot of traditional Mexican culture. I think that in Guadalajara you would sense that you are getting a more well-rounded experience of REAL Mexico and not just the fabricated resort scene. Good luck with your travels!

  5. If you mean a beach resort?   try Barra de Navidad in Jalisco, Puerto escondido, the more develop but yet not so crowdy Huatulco...  if you are looking for culture not the beach see Chiapas at San Cristobal, see the ruins of Palenque and visit the Montebello lake and cascades, also Valle de Bravo in the state of Mexico, Morelia and lake Patzcuaro etc, etc.

  6. Vera Cruz is nice

  7. You can go to Morelia, Guanajuato is another great option, it is beautiful!!!!
