I would like to visit a nice place at Mexico with family but don't want to be that far from San Diego either.

Can someone recommend a place to visit near Mexico and San Diego?

Ensenada Is a good place to visit its 70 mi from the border. They have great beaches and many decent hotels.

If that is too far there is Rosarito 45 min from the border if you dont mind college kids and you have to search for a decent hotel. personally do Ensenanda

You can Always do the day trips to Rosarito, Puerto Nuevo & Ensenada. Its very touristy & you can see most of their town & beach in just a day. The drive from San Diego is about....30 minutes to Rosarito, 45 minutes to Puerto Nuevo & about an hour to Ensenada

If you are looking to stay longer I would recommend going to San Felipe...also very touristy but it has more of a lazy beach town feel. They have a hotel very close (about a block) away from the main streets & shops. This is about a 5-6 hour drive from San Diego.

You can also go a little farther & head to Puerto Penasco. I heard it is gorgeous there! My husband & I havent been but we are planning on driving there next spring. I believe it is about an 8-10 hour drive from San Diego.
