  1. Ask that retirement home to write a letter stating that you have volunteered there. :)

  2. Usually you must arrange permission to volunteer.  (Most places will do a check on you).  Liability issues prevent places from just letting people "show up" and volunteer.   OK, so what....  When you make these arrangements, ask for a time-card or other method to keep track of the time you donate.  Explain why you need it (if you have to--usually you won't).  Generally the person who schedules you for your shifts will have the authority to verify you were actually there, and perhaps write a cover letter for your time record.  If not, find out who does and speak with them.

  3. There is usually someone in charge of the volunteers...A Volunteer Cordinator. This is the person who will prove that ou volunteered.

  4. Type out a simple log and hand write each date and time when you go. Then have someone in charge initial it.
