I went on a tour of Buckingham Palace about 10 years ago. As I recall, it was pretty expensive and you only get to see a certain part of the Palace like the public rooms (ball rooms, receiving rooms, etc. It's cool, don't get me wrong, but expect to pay about 20 pounds for a ticket. The Palace is only open during certain times of the year (when the Queen is not in residence) so plan accordingly. I think it's late summer when the palace is open for tours.
