I would love it if i could play the guitar?

i would love it if i could play the guitar but iv never touched a guitar before not literlay like played it before it just looks so cool but theres no way i could learn im probarly too thick it would be so cool is there no way i could learn if theres a way could they tell me i would really wanna learn

It's not a matter of IF you can learn how to play, it's are you willing to take the time and devotion needed to learn.

Get a guitar, learn how to tune it, take some lessons, and don't give up.  I have four guitars, and have been playing since the 60s.  Good luck.

Hello Guaitarman!! I would say take some cheap, guitar lessons. I would say cheap because that will just get you the basics and then you could go from there.

If you really want to play, you gotta be serious. It will get frustrating. Nothing is easy at first but practice and LESSONS help a lot!

There are no "cheap" lessons: Guitar teachers aren't cheap (and have different prices) and it's a little hard to find a good teacher the first time around, but consider yourself lucky if you do. (I had to go through two to get the one I have now). Don't give up searching if you have to change teachers because YOU want to get your money's worth don't you? Try asking music stores in your area if they offer one-on-one guitar lessons: majority do.

In the meantime, while you're searching for a teacher, you can teach yourself a chord or two from cyberfret.com (click on Beginner Guitar Lessons under the section Learn Guitar). Don't rely on this alone. You can use this as your second teacher when you take lessons if you want.

honestly, just learn chords.

just learn G,C,Em,E,Am,A and D.

they may look hard at first but theyre pretty d**n easy. once u get a hold of that ur pretty much done to play most songs. haha.

then learn F. normally scary cuz most beginners cant make it sound completely.

but yeah just learn those chords cuz theyre most common chords like....evar. hahaha.

after youve got the F chord, evey other chord will be eays cuz they all bar chords like F =]

Take lessons.

Or get a bud who plays to show you the basics.

Or get a guitar and a book or DVD, and start teaching yourself.  It's not impossible, and big name stars have sold millions of records without being able to read music.  

If you want it enough, you can do it, especially if you think of yourself as smart enough to be able to do it.  After all - 8 year old kids play - why can't you?
