It depends...there are many aid projects that accept volunteers for a few week to months where you can participate in their projects. If you want to make Aid work a career then you need to study development at a university level which will put you in a position to apply for paid work in the aid field. best thing to do is check out the websites of organisations such as Oxfam, Goal & Save the Children get in touch with them & ask about volunteering overseas.
