Texas Rangers' superstar outfielder and slugger Josh Hamilton is very positive on his chances to play again for the Rangers in next Major League season.
Hamilton, who is in his final year of contract, will be a free agent soon, but many sources and he himself stating in the media that he would love to play again for the Rangers.
"I would love to stay here, They know that and understand that. I told them I'd give them the first shot. We'll see what happens. I loved the last five years playing with these guys." Hamilton said and explained in the media with confidence.
Though he could not finish well against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday in Wild Card game, but still he is showing his great affiliation with the team where he has played for five years now.
After going 0-for-4 at-bats against the Orioles, many believed that this will be his last game in Texas but later in the game he came out in the media and told them about the true spirit and association he feels for the Rangers.
Hamilton added, "You hate to have it happen in possibly your last game ever here, but I gave my all every time I went out there, Hopefully, they appreciated it more than they did [tonight]." I haven't thought too much about it because it ended so abruptly, It's one of those things where you go home, spend some time with the family, figure out what's going on.”
This past regular season, Hamilton went .285 on hitting average along with 43 homers, 128 RBIs and 354 OBP.
While overall he has been consistent with his career .304 hitting along with 161 homers, 553 RBIs and .363 OBP.
Hamilton is a good player and possesses extraordinary hitting skills. His presence for any team is a great asset. The Rangers also understand this fact and will not let him sign anywhere in the league.
Sources have speculated in the media that the Rangers are already trying hard to come up with a lucrative long term deal for Hamilton.
