I would love to work on non-commercial boats, does anyone would have leads to help me with this?

A non-commercial boat would be a privately owned one, like your neighbor has in his driveway.

Go down to the boat ramp and offer your services. What ARE you willing to do, and for how much?

If you want to work aboard a yacht, you need to have some skill that is marketable. Are you a licensed captain or seaman or gormet cook?
