The Bayern Munich playmaker reveals he would prefer to face Portugal in the final rather than Spain.
The Germans picked themselves up after a humiliating defeat in the warm up friendly at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016. The loss to Ottmar Hitzfield’s men was a blessing in disguise; it led Joachim Low to overhaul the Mannschaft defence.
DFB eleven went into the 2012 European Championships with an experimental defence, but their manager’s gamble to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mats-Hummels-c24767 paid off. The Germans cruised to the top of the Group B table after winning
all three of their group fixtures.

on penalties.
When asked about his preferred opponents in the final, Thomas Muller was quick to reply anyone but Spain. He reckons it would be hard to beat the current European and World Champions. Although he insists Portugal led by their talisman
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 would be no pushovers as well.
"Both Portugal or Spain would be tough nuts to crack. But if I were to pick I would rather not come up against the defending world and European champions,” he is quoted as saying in an interview.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 have been denied the chance to lift a trophy by Spain on a few occasions. The Bayern Munich playmaker believes he would rather win a trophy than settling scores with Spain.
"Just because there is still a score to settle [with Spain] doesn't mean we would want to play them," he added.
The 22-year old knows no matter how good his side are they have a big chance of faltering against the Spaniards. Del Bosque’s side have beaten the Mannschaft twice in their two meetings. Muller states he has had enough of the runners
up place, after losing out on a trophy for a few seasons.
"We have lost against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 in our last two matches. I have already missed out on the Champions League twice and this season I was runner up three times with Bayern. I have had enough of second place," he further added.
If they draw http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 in the final, the Germans would be confident of lifting the trophy. For the time being they have put the talk of winning the Euro 2012 to bed because Joachim Low’s men face an Italian side who are more than
capable of beating them.
