I write poems as a way of turning something so dark into something beautiful.. Why do you write poems?

I write poems to explain what I feel using beautiful language. I write them when I'm bored, in the car, at school, instead of homework. I also write poems to help me understand what I'm feeling.

I write poems to articulate something i cant in an essay that flows has emotion and rings true for the reader. He's one i wrote on war

Who invited war into our homes?

A bitter pill to swallow

That sends us all to the gallows

It doesn’t matter

Even if you’re a good fellow?

It’ll make you sick and yellow

It turns our lives upside down

And ground us into bones

Some say there is profit in war

But for me I’m not so sure?

I’d rather see my fellow man alive

Smiling with his family

Staying alive

Than a lost soldier drowning

Or dying down a rabbit hole

Who invited war into our homes?

I think it stinks

I think it’s a sin?

I wonder where it all began

Someone took something from someone

Without letting on

Then the other later found out

A war of words went on tow

Then blood started to flow

What a shame

What a mistake

Our lives sometimes come down to fate

Someone’s opened

A new door to heavens gate

because i express myself better through my writing when i have time to think about it. i like to express myself through poetry because sometimes my thougths aren't linear, they're more circular, and poetry helps me write and make sense of what i'm feeling.

I want beauty, darkness, light, laughter, fear, etc., to flow in the words I write.

i write poems to pen my emotions which are a major part of my life. i want the world to know and feel my emotions the way i do it so they can understand why i'm feeling like that.
