I wrote a poem...?

This is my first poem and I need an oppion. :-)

Seven Years

I cringed with the horrid weight of my day

I thought about her in every way

Seven years went by

They seemed to be wasted effort

For a friendship that didn’t last

That makes me shudder in thought

It all caught me off guard

Seven years went by so fast

The friendship was unsurpassed

A message read in an ill way

How awful things come in just one day

Not a day goes by without a thought

Of how awfully we fought

Seven years wasted for nothing at all

Seven years came and a sudden fall

The years crumbled and shake

With every step I take

I will miss you old friend

I may never see your face again

You’re leaving this year

To go on and without a fear

Old friend, you were dear and precious to me

I’m sorry to say the love has flied

Flied away and broke my heart

I hope you get this message as we part

I hope to see you again just to tell you Bye Old friend

It brought tears to my eyes..

I have a friend.. but apparently, other things are worth more to him than our friendship.. But it's hard for me to let go..
