  6. This is a very good question...

    1.  I would put the team in either Indianapolis or Charlotte.  These two locations appeal to me because A) There are no existing teams in the state and B) They have large populations that are waiting for a team or their own to cheer for.  I would probably have to say Indianapolis because it is more populated and definitely has the population, location, and economy to support a baseball team.  ESPN also called it the #1 pro sports town in 2003

    2. I would build a state of the art stadium.  First off, as much fun as it is to go to Wrigley, the only reason its so historic is because, well, it was built almost 100 years ago!  The public these days wants the nicest, best, stadiums to sit in and root for their team, and thats why I would build a state of the art stadium.

    3. I would call them the Indianapolis Speed because of the historical racetrack in the city, Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

    4.  If I could have one player on the team, it would be Babe Ruth.  He would draw innumerable fans to the stadium, and is also a great player who would help my team win.

    5. My team would be sponsored by Honda, which A) is a major sponsor of IndyCar Series, B) is growing rapidly with its new fuel efficient cars and C) has the money to spend in America.

    6. FSN Midwest would show my games, and ESPN would pick up all the big games.

    7. My announcers would be Peter Gammons and Buster Olney, who both know their fair share about baseball and dont have strong connections to any one team.

    8. I would hire a GM from an Ivy League school.  It is becoming more and more apparent that successful teams have GM's who do well with numbers and money, not with fastballs and curveballs.  In this day and age an intelligent GM is sooo important.  Exhibit A? Tampa Bay Rays.

    9. My manager would be Phil Garner, a successful manager currently out of a job.

    10. The one unique thing in my ballpark would be a go kart track in left-center field bleachers.  Kids could enjoy this SAFE attraction which would cost a few extra bucks of course but would be fun for all ages.  Of course youd have to wear helmets because of incoming home runs that Babe Ruth would hit!

    Thats my idea...
