hello please hellp me again my usa citizen comming to algeria so we can get maried and IWAS TOLD THAT WE BOTH CAN FILE AT THE EMBASSY OF ALGERIA or can do some thing at the embassy how is that work what can we do thank you all

  1. You CANNOT file at the embssy.  If you get married in Algeria the US citizen must return home, alone, and file in the United States.  The American citizen can only file at the embassy if he/she lives in Algeria as a resident or on some other type of long term visa.


  2. Yak Rider is right. Most embassies won't accept a petition from any American who hasn't been resident there for at least 6  months. Still, you can always ask. Looks like you have time to do that anyway.

  3. go to the USA embassy web site and it tells you step by step instructions upon how to do the paperwork. Trust me I know, I just did it for my wife here in Kuwait

  4. Whether your US citizen spouse can file in Algeria will depend on whether he's lived there and for how long, and also if they offer that type of service. See http://www.myfianceevisa.com  or http://www.sampleimmigrationforms.com
