IAAF partners with Nirmal Lifestyle to promote athletics in India – Athletics news
In order to promote athletics in India, the world athletics body, International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), has signed a partnership deal with Nirmal Lifestyle, the leading Indian real estate company.
Promotion of sports, as a matter of fact, is contingent upon the facilities available in a country. If the youth of a community or society lack the basic infrastructure and equipment for a sport, mere talent cannot let a player display world level performances.
Acknowledging this universal fact under the deal, Nirmal Lifestyle will built the necessary athletics infrastructure and IAAF certified training centres across India. The initiative will facilitate youngsters in training under the guidance and supervision
of world-class athletics coaches.
Nirmal Lifestyle and IAAF both are well aware of the fact that in order to promote athletics in India, it is essential to build not only a world-class infrastructure for the sport, but also to encourage local athletes at grass-root levels to opt for healthy
physical activities.
In this regard, while promising deliverables against specific terms of references, chairman and MD of the Nirmal Lifestyle, Dharmesh Jain, signed the agreement with the IAAF development director, Elio Locatelli. According to the agreement, Nirmal Lifestyle
will work in close cooperation with the Athletics Federation of India.
Acknowledging the honour that IAAF had conferred upon Nirmal Lifestyle by granting it the rights to work for the promotion of athletics in India, Chairman of the real estate company said, “IAAF is the authority for athletics and we are truly honoured to
partner with them in our endeavour to uplift standards for athletics in India. This is the first time a real estate company has taken the lead in building world-class sports facilities and infrastructure for Indian communities across the country.
Locatelli shared his feelings in the following words and said, “We are truly excited to partner with Nirmal Lifestyle in India and we believe that this will be a mutually beneficial tie-up. We will work closely with Nirmal Lifestyle to uncover and motivate
young talents in India.”
The deal between IAAF and Nirmal Lifestyle is indeed a major stride towards promoting the sport in India and if the leading real estate company succeeds in delivering according to the agreement, athletics will certainly get a major boost in the country.
