One of my coworkers at work has recently been experiencing a serious number of "IBS attacks" in the workplace and out of it. She believes that she has modified her diet sufficiently, in order to help her prevent these attacks, however when they occur, she feels miserable and cannot think of any way to deal with them. Are there any medications out there (preferably OTC) that can help stop an attack after one has started?
For example, I've heard that Magnesium Phosphate capsules are excellent OTC supplements that can help reduce the symptoms presented when an individual with IBS has an "attack". Does anyone know if there is any truth to this rumor?
