ICC Americas Region Division One Twenty20 2011 kicks off on July 18 – Cricket News Update
The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Americas Region Division One Twenty20 (T20) Series is set to take off on July 18, 2011, in Florida, USA, as five regional nations gear up to face each other in the upcoming event.
The competition comes as another solid initiative by the ICC to create greater awareness and International participation in cricket amongst the governing body’s associate and affiliate members.
The ICC administered tournament is set to feature five American region nations including the hosts United States, followed by participants http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Cayman-Islands-c2867. The event will be a 4-day competition amongst these teams.
  
The tournament fixtures include the series opener between Argentina and Bermuda on July 18, 2011, followed by two more matches on the same day.
Three more games will be hosted on July 19th and 20th, following a one day rest. July 22nd and 23rd will host another three matches apiece.
As for the venue, all 15 matches will be staged at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium, Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Usa-c759.
The contestant squads are yet to be finalized; however, based on their previous participation, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Asif-Iqbal-Razvi-c46481 Hansra’s Canadian team is the most likely tournament favorite.   
Previously, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Papua-New-Guinea-c41002, stood out as the unbeaten series champions.
Other participants of the event included http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vanuatu-c3038 and Samoa.  
Following the Pacific region, the African Region Division One is currently in procession as the series is scheduled to come to an end on July 15. The tournament features http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nigeria-c2970.
The series was another 7-day event, involving a total of 22 games, including the last two decisive fixtures.
So far, the competition is being headed by the Namibians, who have so far remained undefeated.
As for the upcoming event, the audience will have to wait and see which team rises up to be the regional competitor as the previous tournaments produced some exceptional performances by some of cricket’s underdogs.
