ICC Americas Region Division One Twenty20 Series: Tournament Recap
The International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) Americas Region Division One Twenty20 (T20) Series came to an impressive finale on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida after Canada stood out undefeated
earning the tournament title.
The 6-day event took off on July 18 at Florida, as 6 regional contestants geared up to battle it out for an eventual spot on the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers scheduled to begin early next year in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE).
The participants, including the hosts United States of America (USA), followed by Canada, Suriname, Bermuda, Argentina, and Cayman Islands come as the affiliate and associate members of the ICC with an opportunity to play international cricket against the
top teams across the globe.
Day one of the competition took to the field with each team participating in a single bout. From a total of three games, Bermuda, USA and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Canada-c748 stood out as the opening winners.
The following day came out with a similar fixture, again with the three teams securing their second respective wins on the event.
However, as for July 20th, the day came to a close with Cayman Islands securing their first win on the tournament after defeating Suriname with an impressive 7 wickets margin. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Usa-c759 and Canada followed with their successive wins after defeating
Argentina and Bermuda respectively.
With a day’s rest, the procession went on with three more games on July 22nd. The day hosted competitive bouts, with Canada and USA’s fixture being the most anticipated one. However, the game came to a close with the Canadians offering the hosts
a taste of their first defeat on the series. Though a competitive bout, the match came to a close with Canada securing their 4th consecutive win.
Day 6 came with the tournament finale after the Canadians, through an undefeated run at the event, stood out as the tournament winners followed by USA and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Argentina-c2841 remained
to be the series runner ups.
