The first 4-day match of the ICC Intercontinental Cup started off between Kenya and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 from July 28, 2011. The fixture was scheduled to begin at 10:00am local time at the Gymkhana Club Ground, Nairobi.
This match was preceded by 2 One-Dayers between Kenya and UAE which took place on Monday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 26. Kenya won the first match by 66 runs through D/L method while UAE remained triumphant against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kenya-c752 in the 2nd match, with
a margin of 4 wickets.
UAE had prepared well before this tour and were confident and excited to meet the comparatively stronger team in limited over as well as the longer format of cricket.

Saqib Ali came in to support the opener Rehman and Wesonga did not let them establish a scoring partnership and sent Rehman away.

Captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khurram-Khan-c71386 and Saqib Ali then supported the crumbing team and added 121 runs in 31.5 overs. This 5th wicket partnership brought UAE back into the game.

The captain Khurram http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 was aiming for the century but got caught out at the hands of Kenyan skipper Obuya. Khan had played a splendid innings of 83 runs including 11 boundaries.
The Tail-enders could not add much to the team’s total. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Sarwar-c90093 got caught out at duck. UAE concluded its 1st innings at a total of 213 runs which is not difficult to chase for the Kenyan team. UAE
