Nepal under 19 (U19) side managed to secure a fair sum of 101 runs after losing 4 wickets against Afghanistan U19 with the close of the 25th over. The One Day International (ODI) match took place at the Observatory Lane, Rathmines, Dublin, on
Thursday, July 28, 2011 and comes as the series opener for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 World Cup Qualifier.
The bout took to the field after Afghanistan skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shir-Shirzai-c90029 won the toss and chose to field, forcing the Nepalese youth into batting with opening pair, featuring team wicket-keeper Subash Khakurel and right handed batsman Fajlur Rahman. In response,

Following the kick off to the match, the openers took on safe batting earning some slow runs in the opening moments. However, the two, in an attempt to pick up the scoring pace managed to add in some quick 3 boundaries in the 5th over bringing
the total to 29 runs with the close of the over.
The duo took on some constructive batting adding occasional boundaries to the total managing to retain their stumps as the procession went on.
However, Nepal suffered its first jolt after Sayed Shirzad managed to bring an end to Rahman’s innings in the closing moments of the 9th over.
The batsman made his return after producing an accidental edge off the delivery leading the ball in the hands on wicket keeper Afsar http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319. Rahman made his exit after spending a fair run at the crease earning 26 runs for his side.
With the close of the 10th over, Nepal managed to come up with a modest total of 57 runs.
As Sagar Pun came in to join opener Khakurel on the crease, the pair failed to engage into a partnership as more trouble came for Nepal. New comer, Pun, was declared caught out off Shirazi’s bowl as the game got on with a few more overs.
The two swift wicket losses for the batting side brought in sluggish feel to the game forcing Khakurel and next in line batter http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Naresh-c78656 Budayair to take on a defensive stance earning occasional runs.  
As the 20th over came up, Nepal youths, following a loss of 2 wickets, managed to come up with an adequate total of 86 runs.  
However, through some impressive bowling from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Afghanistan-c745 medium pacer Ahmadzai, two successive wickets dropped for the batting side in the 24th over, bringing the total toll to 4.
The first troubled half of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nepal-c2965’s innings came to a close with the 25th over after the team managed to acquire 101 runs with a loss of 4 wickets.
