Both the participants took to the field after the Afghanistan U19 skipper, Shir Shirazi, won the toss and opted to bowl first, putting the Scottish youngsters into their batting gear.

However, the pair was finally parted in the 28th over, after Coleman was forced to exit the crease on a LBW appeal off skipper Shirazi’s delivery. Coleman delivered a notable performance with the bat, making a proud exit at 63, including 10 striking
boundaries.
A few more overs into the match, middle order batsman, Aman Bailwal also made his exit after being dismissed by the Shirazi. Bailwal’s loss came as the 4th for the team and by then Scotland had managed to earn a fair sum of 140 runs in 33 overs.
As the game trekked into the final overs of the innings, Scottish batting line-up went on to lose consecutive wickets, since the team’s eventual order failed to retain stumps, making them easy targets for the Afghanistan bowlers.
The lot also included Ross’s wicket, who managed to make a considerable contribution for the team through his impressive half ton, before being declared out off Ahmadzai’s delivery.
The opening session was finally brought to an end in the 50th over with Scotland U19 coming up with a fair sum of 219.
